CBD is a legal non-psychoactive cannabinoid compound derived from the Hemp plant. Unlike Tetrahydrocannabinol, commonly known as THC (the psychoactive compound in marijuana) CBD does not cause a “high”.

Chill By Design CBD products are extracted from the hemp plant due to its higher CBD concentration and lower THC content.

Cannabis plants contain several compounds such as cannabinoids, which represent active compounds in the plant. So far at least 113 cannabinoids have been discovered, with Cannabidiol (CBD) and Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the most popular.

Simply put ‘No’. There is no evidence to suggest that there is any risk to overdosing even using more than is advised.

No, on any regular drugs test the results would be negative as they usually only screen for THC. However, if the test is designed for all cannabinoids, the result would be positive.

CBD products are 100% legal in the UK due to the minimal THC content (<0.2%), which is the illegal compound of the hemp plant.

How is our CBD made?

Our CBD oils are made using a method known as Supercritical CO2 extraction, which whilst being the most expensive, produces the finest grade of CBD. CO2 is forced through the plant at high pressure and a low temperature.

How do I choose the right dosage?

We cannot tell you how much CBD to take as there are no official values to follow. We suggest you start off small and increase your dosage gradually and see how your body reacts. It may be useful to keep a diary of how you feel after each dosage until you find the right amount for you. See our product descriptions for suggested dosage amounts however what works for someone else may not work for you. You may need a smaller dose, or you may require a stronger dosage.

Does CBD cause side effects?

There have been very few reports about side effects of CBD. The side effects experienced ranged from an irritated stomach to some drowsiness and lower blood pressure. However, some side effects (e.g. diarrhoea) could be caused by poor-quality CBD. Make sure to research your choice thoroughly. Less reputable suppliers can offer poor quality products often with deliberately misleading labelling. If you are taking any medication, we advise speaking with your doctor before using CBD.

How do I understand the CBD content labelling?

Ingested products

As mentioned above, less reputable companies deliberately apply misleading labelling. For example, it may state 500mg of CBD on the bottle however the bottle may be 20ml in size which can mean that the actual CBD content is 250mg per 10ml, a common trick used to mislead you into believing you are buying a higher strength product.

Our Oral Drops and Sprays are labelled per 10ml so if it says 1000mg on the bottle then this is the CBD content you will actually get per 10ml. (5mg per drop/spray with approximately 200 drops/sprays across the 10ml).

The quantity of CBD stated on our labels refers to the quantity of actual CBD in the product and not the quantity of CBD hemp concentrate or oil used to make the product. Hemp concentrate or oil products generally contain much less CBD than many companies state as their actual CBD content.

Skin application products

Our balms and massage oil products differ to our ingested products. They have a different production process and are unalike in terms of CBD content. The content stated on these refers to the content across the total product and not per 10ml.
